It is with great excitement that we announce that former Scorpion and 4 year Mohawk College Varsity player Jessna Marmo has accepted the position of Assistant Coach for the Scorpions 16U Gold Team.
Jessna has played competitive indoor and beach volleyball for the Scorpions before attending Mohawk College and playing for their women's team. Jessna graduated from Mohawk in their Advanced Biotechnology Engineering Program.
Matthew Schnarr, Head Coach of the Mohawk College Women's team, “Jessna was the ultimate teammate in her time at Mohawk. An athlete of few words as she let her effort in practice and matches do the talking. Jessna NEVER took a night off and would run through the wall if it meant keeping the ball alive."
Paul Langan, Founder Scorpions Volleyball Club states, " Jessna's passion for the game, knowledge of the game and work effort is exceptional. Our 16U Gold Team will benefit greatly from having Jessna as an assistant coach. "

The Ontario Volleyball Association has chosen the Scorpions Learn to Play Program that focuses on utilizing parents and players on the court as the standard across the province to use.
The Scorpions program was developed 7 years ago as a response to have so many kids on the court there needed to be a way the kids were getting enough touches on the ball. Having parents on the court with their kids has now become the standard program used indoor and outdoor for the grades 2-4 participants.
Paul Langan, Founder Scorpions Volleyball Club states, "I am glad our provincial volleyball association now realizes the importance of having parents on the court when their child is first learning volleyball. There are just so many positives that come out of this method of learning volleyball"
