Scorpions Volleyball Club Celebrates 10 years of Youth Beach Volleyball
The Scorpions Volleyball Club is proud to announce their youth beach volleyball program at the beautiful Shade's Mills Conservation Area in Cambridge. The club is celebrating their 10th year of providing youth beach volleyball for boys and girls. The program starts the week of May 24th, 2021. The details are:
Monday Night Scorpions Beach - Born 2009 & 2010 & 2011 - Skills and Games - Born 2011 & 2010 - 6:10pm, Born 2009 - 7:25pm - $125.00
Tuesday Night Scorpions Beach - Born 2008- Skills and Games - $125.00 - 6:10pm
Wednesday Night - Born 2007 - Weekly Skills, and Games - $125.00
Thursday Night - Giant Scorpions Born 2012-2013- 6:10pm - $80.00 - Parents on the courts fun times for all - , Court #1 (note: 9 weeks)
Thursday Night - HIGH SCHOOL Beach Scorpions -Born 2006-2003 - Weekly Games. - 7:30pm start - $125.00

Due to pandemic the Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club has had to restructure their Winter programs for Grades 4 to high school age girls and boys in 2021.
It is a very fluid situation. We were able to offer programs this past summer and fall and are hopeful we can run a program in the Winter.
We will follow whatever protocols are required in the Waterloo Region. It is possible we will not be able to run the program. A shortage of gyms remain an issue.
Here are the tentative plans for the Winter Programs in Ayr and Cambridge.
Registration starts January 15th, 2021. Program begins first week of February 2021.
Cost is $125.00 for 9 weeks.

The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club are pleased to announce they have donated safety padding and volleyball nets to the City of Cambridge W.G. Johnson Centre and the John Dolson Centre gyms.
WireService.ca Press Release (11/24/2020) Cambridge, ON - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club are a community based youth volleyball club in Cambridge ON formed in 2010. They have become the largest youth beach and indoor volleyball club in the Waterloo Region.
During this pandemic the need for gym space is critical for young people to do healthy physical activity. Both the W.G. Johnson and John Dolson Centre gyms were in need of safety padding for the volleyball poles and new nets.
Paul Langan, founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, "We are a community based club so purchasing this safety equipment for the community centres is a way to give back to the community. "

The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club are proud to announce the details of our Fall Developmental Volleyball Program in Ayr Ontario.
The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is the largest indoor and beach volleyball club in the Waterloo Region and surrounding area. In the fall 2019 they started up up youth volleyball programs in Ayr. There was a 200% increase in enrollment in 2020.
The co-ed program in Ayr will be 9 weeks long on SATURDAYS starting October 17th and ending December 12th, 2020. Scorpions Coach and former University of Waterloo player Renee Michiels will help run the program.

1. The club will follow all Stage 3 Protocols including their own enhanced protocols on reduced class sizes.

The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club has announced changes to the Board of Directors. Claire Chambers, who have been on the board for several years has stepped down from the Registrar role she shared with Rose Lapierre to concentrate more on her job.
Tracy Forshaw has agreed to return to the board in her role of Grants/Sponsorship Coordinator. Tina Castelli will now take on the Registrar role.

We will miss her but understand that her career must take priority at this time in her life. We are fortunate to have Tracy Forshaw agree to return to the board with her expertise."

The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is very proud to announce that Renee Michiels has agreed to be a Board of Director for the club.
Renee is currently the coach of the Scorpions 17U Green competitive girls team. She is also responsible for the successful introduction of youth volleyball programs in Ayr, Ontario.
Renee is former University of Windsor varsity player who still plays. She has over 25 years of playing experience.
