There is a growing demand in our developmental program for boys and girls born 2006 and 2007. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is adding a second location in the south part of Cambridge to meet that demand.
Paul Langan, Scorpions President states, " We are the largest court sport non profit youth organization in Cambridge and surrounding area. It bothers me that we had to turn youth away due to lack of facilities. We have now added a second location for our Scorpions 2 program in the south part of Cambridge so that more youth can play volleyball this fall."
North Cambridge Location Scorpions 2 Program - Our Lady of Fatima School, 55 Hammet St. Cambridge. This location is for all players living north of the Hwy#401, Hespeler, Guelph, Waterloo Region and Preston part of Cambridge
South Cambridge Location Scorpions 2 Program - St. Vincent de Paul School, 30 Faial Rd Cambridge.- All players living south of Hwy#401, except those in Preston.
Due to schools being used for federal election the NEW start night is now Monday October 28th, 2019 - Born 2007 - 6:15pm, Born 2006 - 7:30pm at both locations. These times might change depending on registration numbers but the older group grades 8 will always be later.

The Scorpions Volleyball Club are very proud to announce that Olivia Koop will be playing varsity volleyball with the Goshen College Maple Leaf's Women's Volleyball team in Goshen Indiana.
Olivia Koop plays the middle position. She was a recipient of a Scorpions Academic Scholarship. She made the honor roll all four years at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and was named an Ontario Scholar, graduating with French certification.

August 12th, 2019.....The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club are very proud to announce that they are expanding into Ayr Ontario.
The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club started in 2009. It is now the largest youth beach and indoor volleyball club in the Waterloo Region and surrounding cities.
The Scorpions will be offering a developmental youth program for girls and boys.

Paul Langan, President of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, " We have always had players from Ayr in the club at our programs in Cambridge but in the last two years these numbers have increased significantly. We now also have 3 coaches from Ayr so we feel it is time to expand to this beautiful community.
I have asked Coach Renee Michiels, former University of Windsor varsity player and current Scorpions coach, to lead this program and she has accepted. She is also an Ayr resident as is excited by challenge. I doubt it will not be long before we have Scorpions competitive teams from Ayr."

The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is proud to announce that Bernadine Verstraeten and Steve Furnace are returning to run our Grade 7 and 8 Scorpions 2 Development Program this October.
Bernadine is a teacher and has been coaching volleyball for approximately 20 years and is an elite developmental coach. Steve Furnace will be Bernadine's Assistant Coach. Steve has been volunteering with the Monday night program for 8 years and plays volleyball in the adult leagues.
Paul Langan, Founder of the club states, " The respect that Bernadine gets from the parents and players in the program is well deserved. When it comes to teaching skill development to our players Bernadine is exceptional. Having Steve help Bernadine each year makes for a fantastic program. It is no surprise to me that this programs sells out every year."

wireservice.ca....August 1st, 2019...The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is proud to announce their tryout dates for their indoor competitive teams for the 2019-20 indoor season.
The Scorpions club will have 18 competitive teams. There will be 4 boys teams and 14 girls teams. The Green and Gold teams play in the Ontario Volleyball Association Tournaments. The White teams play in the Southwest Volleyball League.
Tryouts for the Green and Gold Teams will be on September 14th Saturday and Sunday the 15th at Monsignor Doyle School on Myers Road. Tryouts for the White Teams will be on Monday September 16th and Tuesday September 17th at Preston High School on Rose Street in Cambridge.

The Scorpions are holding a Get Ready for Tryouts Camp on August 25th Sunday and August 26th where players can get prepared for tryouts and coaches can see you before our tryouts. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club are proud to announce that Alana Beirness and Megan DeMille are returning to coach for the club. Alana will be the head coach of the Scorpions 16u Gold team and Megan will he the Assistant Coach.

With the hiring of of our senior coach Pam Knechtel to help mentor the team, I am looking forward to a very positive experience for the players that make the 16U Gold Scorpions girls team."

Raluca is a former Scorpion competitive player. Her assistant coach will be Catalin Oprean.
The Scorpions 14U White Team plays in the Southwest League.
