The Scorpions Volleyball Club is proud to announce the tryout schedule for the boys and girls competitive teams for the 2015/16 indoor season. WireService.ca Press Release (08/17/2015) Cambridge Ontario - The Scorpions Volleyball Club is the largest indoor and beach volleyball club in the Waterloo Region, Brantford, Guelph, Woodstock areas. They had over 1000 registered players in the club in 2014. The club has finalized the schedule for the boys and girls competitive teams. The tryouts will occur the weekend of September 12th and 13th 2015 in Cambridge Ontario. Players are expected to attend both tryout days. There is no charge to attend the tryouts. The club will have competitive GIRLS teams for those born from 2005 to 1998. The club will continue it's development of a BOYS competitive team program by adding a 13U team (born 2003) to the existing 14U (born 2002) and 15U (born 2001). The growth and expansion of their competitive progam is directly related to the large growth in their learn to play and house league programs. Paul Langan, Founder of the club states, "I am constantly amazed how the club continues to grow and the excitement around our competitive team tryouts keeps building. I know our coaches are pumped for the new indoor season" The competitive team tryouts are open to boys and girls from anywhere in Ontario regardless if they have competitive volleyball experience or not. There are no tryout fees. We ask that players do not wear any clothing that identifies the club they are from to ensure a fair tryout. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is pleased to announce the hiring of their 18U Girls and 15U Boys competitive team head coach. WireService.ca Press Release – August 12th, 2015 - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club from Cambridge Ontario will have 15 competitive teams in the upcoming indoor volleyball season. The Scorpions are proud to announce that Vaughan McMillan has agreed to return to coach for the club. He will be the head coach for two competitive teams. Vaughan will continue to coach the 18U girl’s competitive team. He will also coach the 15U boy’s competitive team. Vaughan has coached for the Scorpions for three years. Previously he played 5 years as a player at Brock University and also coached there. CAMBRIDGE TIMES – Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club will expand its 2015-16 fall and winter youth volleyball programs. Club officials have redefined and expanded their developmental and house league programs for the upcoming season. Now, the Scorpions will add a program for boys and girls that begins in Grade 2, based on the Volleyball Canada Development Model, and will re-align the program to meet the intent of the Long Term Athlete Development Model, including the addition of circulation – mini volleyball and atomic volleyball. An estimate of 500 youth will be involved in their various indoor programs this season. The developmental program costs $75 per child, while the winter house league program costs $95. The club recently celebrated their fifth year anniversary. They had 500 youth in their indoor program and 350 in their beach volleyball programs in 2015. The club has refocused their energy on their developmental programs. They offer programs for boys and girls from Grade 2-12.
