The OVA has announced that Scorpion's Coach Paul Podstawka has won the OVA Beach Tour Player of the Year award for 2014. The Player of the Year award is given to an adult division player who has accumulated the most OVA Beach Tour Adult Division points throughout the 2014 season in both the men's and women's categories. The player with the most accumulated points will receive $1000 in prize money. In 2013, Scorpions's coach Fiodar Kazhamiaka won the same award. Medals at both provincial andnnational levels are some of his past accomplishments. The Scorpions will be adding a third volleyball camp this year. There is a growing demand on the club to increase their summer programs. One of their camps is a Girls Skills Indoor Camp that will run July 7th -11th in Cambridge. It is a half day camp. Morning - 8:30-noon (born, 2001, 2002 and 2003), Afternoon - 1-4:00pm (born 2000 and earlier). The cost is $120.00. if you register in more than one camp the price is reduced. The location of the camp will be a gym in Cambridge. The camp director is volleyball coach Keith Wasylik. Keith is a Certified Level 3 Coach, former Ontario Volleyball Technical Director, with 30 years of coaching experience. Mark brings to the club a wealth of experience. He has played at the university level and continues to coach at the high school level. Mark's 2012 Jacob Junior Girls Team won the WCSSAA title going undefeated all season. We welcome Mark back to our Scorpions family. We are very proud to announce the return of Barb and Darci Martindale to our Scorpions Coaching Staff. Both are excellent leaders. They ran our Grade 5&6 Beach House League program last summer.
