The Scorpions are proud to announce that Vaughan McMillan has agreed to return to coach for the club. He will be the head coach for two competitive teams. Vaughan will continue to coach the 18U girl’s competitive team. He will also coach the 15U boy’s competitive team. Vaughan has coached for the Scorpions for three years. Previously he played 5 years as a player at Brock University and also coached there. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is proud to announce their expanded 2015/16 Fall and Winter Youth Volleyball Programs for the youth of Cambridge, Ontario and surrounding area. WireService.ca Press Release (07/06/2015) Cambridge, ON - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club are pleased to provide the details of their 2015 Fall and 2016 Winter Youth Indoor Volleyball Programs. The Scorpions Volleyball Club, one of only five volleyball clubs accredited by Volleyball Canada, have redefined and expanded their developmental and house league programs for the upcoming season. Scorpions Volleyball player Samantha Warner, a 6'1" middle blocker, has signed with the University of Waterloo women's varsity volleyball team. This past season she was named a District 8 First Team All-Star. She also was the captain of her Southwood Secondary School volleyball team and led them to their first CWOSSAA championship. The Venom started slowly on the 1st day of the tournament losing to MS. Pakmen and London Fire Intensity. The Scorpions returned to winning form dominating the Kitchener Predators in straight sets 25-11, 26-24. On Saturday the Scorpions Venom were on fire winning all three matches. They beat the Galaxy Eclipse 25-17, 24-26, 15-12, Niagara Rapids Blue 27-25 26-24, and DRVC Whitby 25-20, 25-22. On Sunday the Scorpions faced the 3rd ranked team in Ontario and lost to the Aurora Storm 25-15, 25-18, thus eliminating them from the tournament. The Scorpions Venom Team on Sunday were ranked 9th at the Ontario Championships for Division 1 Tier 1 volleyball. It was an impressive year for the team.
