![]() The Scorpions 16U Girls competitive volleyball team travelled to Buffalo to play at the Buffalo Niagara Court Centre Volleyball Tournament They won the GOLD medal. In pool play they beat Pride VC 25-12, 25-9, Niagara Frontiers VB 25-12, 25-18 and NCVC Blue 25-13, 25-9. In the playoffs the Scorpions defeated NFVB Black: 23-25, 25-20, 15-13 and Durham Attack: 25-20, 25-21. In the finls they beat Galaxy Eclipse 25-21. 25-16 to win the GOLD. The simple fact is we do not have enough facilities in Cambridge and also out of town organizations hoard the gyms (aka book the gym but leave it empty all winter). The Scorpions club is based out of Cambridge, Ontario. In 2014 they had 500 youth in their beach volleyball program. In 2016 they are anticipating a 20% growth in registration. The club has developed a short video promoting their beach volleyball program. The video includes a song "Lets Go Scorpions Beach" especially written for the club by Dale D'Amore of the Windsor/Detroit-based band Guitar Army. The full version of the song will be available on the club's website January 27, 2015. You can watch the video on our website. The Scorpions Beach Program, for boys and girls, will consist of: 1. House League & Learn to Play Beach Programs (for those born 1997-2006) - Registration starts January 7th, 2015. All players registered in our house league programs also receive registration into our June 20th Emerald Lake tournament and our giant June 30th Riverside Park tournament. 2. Summer Camps - The camps will be held on July 6th to 10th and July 13th to 17th. We are excited to announce big changes to our summer camps. Camp details and registration will begin February 1st, 2015. 3. Competitive Beach Duos Program - The Scorpions had 36 duos play on the Ontario Beach Volleyball Tour. We are excited to announce details of our expanded 2015 program on February 1st. 4.Scorpions Beach Tour 2015 - The club is finalizing details for their summer youth beach volleyball tour dates and locations. The club will be expanding the tour this year. The tournaments are for competitive duos run in June and July in different locations in Ontario including the club's home courts at Emerald Lake, Ontario. Details will be announced by February 1st,2015.
