The Scorpions Volleyball Club is proud to announce their Get Ready for Tryouts Monday Sessions. The sessions will be held July 11th and 18th at Heritage College, 150 Holiday Inn Drive in Cambridge, ON.
These sessions are to prepare boys for our September competitive team tryouts. ALL are welcome to attend. They are for those Boys born 2012-2005. Times are: 6:00pm-7:25pm - Born 2008-2012 7:30pm-9:00pm - Born 2007-2005 Cost is $20. for both sessions. Click HERE to register. Scorpions Boys "Get Active" Volleyball Program Starts August 12th - 3 Wednesdays in August Outdoors8/2/2020 The Scorpions Volleyball Club is very proud to announce that they will be offering a program in August aimed at getting boys active outside playing volleyball. The program will run 3 Wednesday nights August 12,19 and 26th. It will be run by all our boys team head coaches. It is open to any boys born 2004-2009. Boys UPDATE: All ages times - 6:30pm- 8:00pm The cost is $30. for all three sessions. UPDATE: Location is outdoors at the sand courts located at Cambridge Sports Park, 1001 Franklin Blvd. Cambridge We will follow the Scorpions Stage 3 Protocols. Parents will be required to complete a waiver before the 1st session. As well parents will be required to complete an online Health Evaluation Questionnaire also for their son. To Register click on this LINK. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is very proud to announce that Lisa Stewart has agreed to coach for the club for the 2020-21 indoor competitive season. Lisa will be part of the coaching staff for the Scorpions 13u Girls Gold Competitive Team. Lisa has over 30 years experience playing volleyball. She also has a multi-sport coaching background. Paul Langan, Club President states, " Lisa brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the club. She has a lot to give and we are grateful to have her in our club. We look forward to see her continue to grow as a coach with our club in the 2020-21 indoor season." The tryouts for the club are usually in September 20201. The Scorpions Volleyball Club is proud to announce that Ariel Castromayor has agreed to coach the 16U Boys competitive team. Ariel is entering this forth year coaching with the club and is a former head coach of the Conestoga Condors men's varsity team. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball states, " We appreciate all Ariel has done for the club these past few years. This year we are only asking Ariel to coach one team. He has accepted the offer to coach the boys 16U team. We are looking forward to a great tryout and indoor competitive season for the 16U boys." Raluca is a former Scorpion competitive player. Her assistant coach will be Catalin Oprean. The Scorpions 14U White Team plays in the Southwest League. Amanda is a former varsity player for Brock University women's volleyball team. She still plays competitive indoor and beach volleyball. Amanda is also a mountain bike rider who won medals riding for the University of Waterloo and still competes in races. Paul Langan states, " Amanda's first year coaching for us was a big success. We are happy she said yes to coaching again this season for the Scorpions. She is definitely a coach we have identified as being a positive force in the club for years to come. Tara Omand, is currently in the nursing program at Conestoga College Tara is our the coordinator of our beach volleyball program for the same age group. She is also a former assistant coach and player with the Scorpions. Katelynn Monteiro, a teacher, has coached in our competitive program the last two years. Jessica Frias,a teacher, is in her 4th year of helping coaching with the Scorpions 1 program. Paul Langan, club president states, 'With the stepping down of the former leader of this program John Forman, we needed to re-energize this program and we have. Tara, Katelynn and Jessica are three dynamic coaches. We are so fortunate to have these three exciting coaches step forward to coach in this critical program for us." Philip has over 20 years coaching and playing experience in the sport of volleyball. He played for Sheridan College for three years and then went on to coach at West Side Volleyball Club (Rexdale, ON), as a head coach for U14 to U18, for approx. 5 seasons. He also coached college level volleyball for 5 seasons at Tyndale College in Toronto, ON. He has coached younger ages also. Michelle Wobst has been playing competitive volleyball for over 30 years. They did a fantastic job last year and we are looking forward to seeing the team improve again this season." Tracy has been coaching and playing for over 16 years and is returning for her 7th year to the club. She is also part of the club Technical Committee. Kelsey Caza is a former Scorpion and University of Waterloo Warrior varsity player that is returning to coach for her second year. She is part of the next generation of fantastic coaches for the club. All three teams returned homes with medals.
The Scorpions 14U Boys team travelled to Stratford and captured a GOLD medal in the Trillium Division. The boys worked hard. The tournament also featured the return of Coach James Evans to the 14u Boys coaching staff. The Scorpions 15U Aculeus Girls team travelled to Kitchener to capture a BRONZE medal in the Championship Division. Congrats to this team as they climb up the rankings. The Scorpions 15U Strong Girls team travelled to Simcoe to capture a GOLD medal in the Trillium Green Division. It was their first medal of the season. It was a fantastic gift to assistant coach Lee Boyadjian who was leaving the team after this tournament. She is moving to another province. It truly was a magical weekend for the Scorpions Volleyball Club. |
