![]() The Scorpions Volleyball Club is very pleased to announce that Tom Podstawka and Renee Michiels will be coaching the high school developmental program that starts in October. The co-ed program gives athletes a chance to improve on their volleyball skills and is also where the Scorpions 15u White Select team is chosen from. That team gets an additional practice a week and enters 5-6 non OVA tournaments. Tom Podstawka will lead the program and is an accomplished athlete. Tom is a head coach in the Scorpions Competitive Beach Program and has been head coach for Scorpions Indoor competitive teams for three years. Renee Michiels is a former standout varsity player at the University of Windsor. She is one of the most dominant middle blockers to ever come out of this area. She has over 20 years of playing experience.This is the first year for Renee coaching with the Scorpions. Paul Langan, Founder of the Scorpions Volleyball Club states, " Tom has already proven he is a quality coach in our club. Renee is a coach that will have a bright future with the Scorpions. ![]() PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, September 17, 2017 –Fiodar Kazhamiaka and Sergey Grabovsky of Canada captured the men’s silver medal at Punta Cana Beach Volleyball Tournament, the fifth stop of the 2017 NORCECA Circuit on Sunday. In the semi final Grabovsky/Kazhamiaka beat William Sanchez and Víctor Castillo of Dominican Republic-A 2-0 (21-14, 25-23). In the finals they lost a tough match to the USA team of Kolinske/Evans 2-0 (21-19, 21-15). Fiodar Kazhamiaka is the assistant coach for the Scorpions Volleyball Club 14U Green Indoor Girls Team as well as the Senior Competitive Beach Program Coach for the club. The Fanshawe Falcons play in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association league. Mya Tostik is from Cambridge Ontario. Her tenacity on the court was a reflection of her dedication to the sport. We wish her all the best." Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball states, " Ariel was one of the first coaches to help our club when we started in 2010. I watched many Conestoga Condors varsity games when he was head coach and also observed him running clinics for the Scorpions. I am excited to have him as part of our Scorpions Club." The Scorpions 16U Gold Girls volleyball team final tryout is Tuesday September 12th 7:30pm Heritage College, Cambridge, Ontario. It is an open tryout.
