The Scorpions 14U VX and 15U Green teams played in preseason tournaments on Saturday. The 15U Green team had a very strong performance in Kitchener playing up in a 16U non medal tournament winning most matches. The 14U VX team travelled to London and won a Silver medal losing in the gold medal match in the third set. The beginning of the night was a bit of a challenge as the school board double booked Preston High School with a basketball tournament. That was no problem for the Scorpions and their fans as they set up additional seating in the other gym for a packed night of volleyball. It was exciting volleyball by all teams and the audience was enthusiastic, clapping and cheering at the many fantastic plays. Thanks to all for making this such a successful night of volleyball. ![]() In 2010, when the Hespeler Scorpions Volleyball Club started up with 1 competitive team and 39 youth in their Learn to Play program the Hespeler Optimist Club were the first sponsors to help the new young club. The club is excited to announce that Mark Morell has agreed to run the program. Mark, has played for over 30 years and run a weekly co-ed adult league. For the past 5 years he has coached grade 4 through 6 kids at the local school. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, " I have been trying to get Mark to coach for us for three years. Mark is the exact type of coach we are looking for in the club. He is professional and is a very positive person. The boys will benefit from his coaching." The boys progam starts Wednesday October 11th, 2007 at Hespeler Public School, 300 Winston Blvd. It runs for 9 weeks and costs $75.00. It is the first time in the 7 year history of the club that their Monster, Atomic 1 and 2 and High School Developmental programs are filled. Paul Langan, Scorpions founder states, " We are so very pleased that so many boys and girls in the community are taking up volleyball. We also recognize that due to lack of gyms we have to currently turn away youth in Cambridge who want to learn how to play volleyball."
