![]() WireService.ca Press Release (05/20/2015) Cambridge, Ontario The Scorpion's 18U Girls Team travelled to Calgary to attend the Volleyball Canada National Championships. After a hard fought three days the Scorpions returned home with a Division 2 Tier 3 Silver Medal. On Sunday they started off beating Durham Regions VC in three sets. 25 -15, 22-25, 15-2. They then lost to Mavericks VC of Manitoba 19-25 , 14-25. The third match on Sunday they defeated Big Bear VC of Manitoba 25-15, 26-24. On Monday, the Scorpions defeated Nooks VC of Alberta 25-20, 25-9, Element Panthers of Saskatchewan 25-19, 25-13. Before losing a close one in three sets to SISU Manitoba17-25, 25-19, 11-15 The first match Tuesday was the stay or go home quarter final against Elite VC of Alberta. The Scorpions defeated them in straight sets, 25-16. 25-19. In the semi final the Scorpions defeated the Rustlers VC of Saskatchewan 25-16, 25-18. In the gold medal game they lost a close one to SISU Manitoba again 27-25, 27-25. The Scorpions 18U team is: Brittany Banderob, Cheyanne Omand, Emma Wylie, Karis Mapp, Kelsey Caza, Kristen Owen, Lexi Rosen, Nicole Mulholland, Samantha Warner, Taylor Trush with Head Coach - Janet Mulholland.

WireService.ca Press Release (05/12/2015) Cambridge, ON - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is proud to announce the third player from their 18U team who have signed to play varsity volleyball at college or university in September 2015. 18U Scorpion player Nicole Mulholland, has decided to attend Sheridan College and accept an athletic scholarship to play for the Sheridan College women's team. Nicole is the daughter of former USA Volleyball Team player/ Olympic medalist, Janet Cobbs-Mulholland and former University of Southern California volleyball player Jason Mulholland. Scott Hunt, coach of the Sheridan Bruins team states, "We are very excited that Nicole has decided to be a Bruin. She is a very skilled setter with a strong work ethic and desire to compete. Her experience training in a highly competitive environment with the Scorpions Volleyball Club makes her a perfect fit for our program." WireService.ca Press Release (05/06/2015) Cambridge, Ontario - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is proud to announce the second of several of their players who have signed to play varsity volleyball at college or university in September 2015. 18U Scorpion player and team captain Samantha Warner, from Ayr, Ontario, has decided to attend the University of Waterloo and accept a scholarship to play for the Waterloo Warrior women's team. This past season she was named a District 8 First Team All-Star. She also was the captain of her Southwood Secondary School volleyball team and led them to their first CWOSSAA championship. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, "I can’t say enough good things about Sam Warner. She is a leader on and off the court. She is perhaps the most positive player I have met.
