![]() The Scorpions Volleyball Club is proud to announce that Lisa Buttazzoni has joined the club as one of our 11U Scorpions girls team coaches. Lisa has been playing volleyball for over 20 years. Her accomplishments include; three years setting for regional team in the Ontario Summer Games, two years on the regional beach team in the Ontario Summer Games and has trained with Cambrian College and the Ottawa Gee Gees. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, "We are excited to have Lisa join our club. Lisa is part of our new breed of coaches. They are young and are still playing volleyball. I am confident our 11U Scorpions girls team program is in good hands with Lisa as one of the coaches." Girls going into Grade 6 this September and younger are encouraged to try out for the 11U team. ![]() The Scorpions Volleyball Club are very pleased to announce that Andreas Schirm and Paige Stewart and returning to coach for the club. They will coach the Scorpions 18U girls team. Her assistant will be Melissa Leendertse. Lee has been with the club for three years and has had assistant and head coaching roles. Last year Lee was the head coach of the 14U Scorpions White girls team. Paul Langan, founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, "Lee is one of our young coaches we are looking at to help build our future. She is an excellent role model for the young women." The Scorpions are extremely proud that Angelina Markotic and Sasha Van der Merwe from the club have made Team Ontario. The girls were selected after being selected to attend a High Performance Camp in North Bay.They were picked at the end of the camp and will participate right after in the National Team Challenge Cup in Richmond BC. John has been assistant coach for three different Scorpion teams in the past and has been an integral part of our development program. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleball states, "John has a very busy professional life but still finds time to volunteer with the club sometimes even helping coach two teams in one season. The 15U Boys team is in good hands with John as head coach this year. He is professional in his dealings with parents and players." The Scorpions Volleyball Club are proud to announce that former University of Waterloo Warrior standout players Aleks Poldma and James Evans will return to coach the Scorpions Boys 13U Team this year.
The Scorpions Boys team ended the season last year with a Provincial Bronze Medal. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball states, " This boys team last year showed dramatic improvement from the start of the season to the end." The head coach is Andrew Kim. Soren has over 15 years of playing experience. He played at Ghent University in Belgium and also participated in tournaments in Germany and France.
