Scorpions Move Up to Premier DivisionThe Scorpions 16U Shockwave travelled to Toronto for their Ontario Volleyball Tournament.
In pool play they beat Toronto Phoenix : 25-19, 25-19 and Ottawa Maverick: 25-21, 25-20. In the quarter finals they defeated North Bay VC : 25-26, 25:15. They lost in the semi-finals to the Oakville Thunder: 13-25, 25-27. In the Bronze medal they defeated the Kitchener Predators : 26-24, 25-22. With the 3rd place finish the Scorpions will now move up to the Premier division of the OVA" Team members are Brianne Banderob,Ashley Mulholland,Lauren Reycraft,Liana Roller, Tove Petersen, Rachel Maier,Grace Heath,Megan Richer and Emerald Grob. ANOTHER SCORPIONS MOVE UP TO PREMIER DIVISION! The 14U Scorpions Fuzion Team won a bronze medal in the recent Ontario Volleyball Association held at the Rockway Mennonite College, Kitchener. With the win the Scorpions Team move up to the Premier Division the highest level of youth volleyball in Ontario.
In Pool Play the Scorpions Fuzion defeated Kitchener Predators Impact 25-19, 15-25, 15-13. They then defeated Kitchener Predators Ambush 25-21, 25-22. In the Quarter Finals the Scorpions Fuzion defeated the Guelph Grizzlies 25-4, 25-16. In the semi-finals the Scorpions lost to the Great Whites 22-25, 20-25. The Scorpions needed to win the Bronze medal Match to move up to the Premier Division. They defeated the Kitchener Predators Ambush in straight sets. 25-14, 25-15. Team members are: Nahya Dalle Vedove,Lexie Stanley,Makayla Constantino, Jaaziah Colquhoun,Lauren Letoile,Emily Anderson, Victoria Cripps, Leah Kruis,Sydney Hendershott and Nina Blagojevic. Head Coach Tracy Liburd, Assistant Coach Andy Watson. The Scorpions Volleyball Club held their first of three house league tournaments Saturday at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School. It was a hugh success for the Grade 5,6,7 and 8 players attending. Thanks to Coach John Forman and all the volunteers for making it happen.
15U SYNERGY WIN SCORPIONS FIRST PREMIER MEDAL The Scorpions 15U Synergy girls competitive team on December 12, 2015 travelled to Hamilton to play in the Premier Division Ontario Volleyball Association Tournament.
They did what no other Scorpions team could do before them by capturing a bronze medal in the highest division in youth volleyball in Ontario. In pool play they lost a close one in 3 sets against London Forest City Oaks L 23-25,W 25-14,L 13-15. they rebounded to beat Hamilton in a gritty three set battle.L 23-25,W 25-17,W 15-12 It did not get any easier, as in the quarter finals, the Scorpions needed three sets to defeat London LVC Intensity W 25-10, L 21-25, W 15-12. In the semi finals the Scorpions lost a tough match in three sets to Halton Hurricanes W 26-24,L 16-25, L 9-15. It set up the Bronze Medal showdown match against the same London Forest City Oaks team that had beaten the Scorpions team earlier. The Scorpions got their revenge and beat London in straight sets 25-16 and 29-27. Paul Langan, club founder states," We have had many good solid teams in the last five years but it takes something special to win a medal in the Premier Division. By the Scorpions Synergy 15U winning the bronze medal we have raised the bar for all Scorpions teams to meet and exceed." There are 2 one hour sessions. Heritage College, 175 Holiday Inn Drive, Cambridge, ON. Session times are 4:00pm-5:00pm and 6:30pm-7:30pm. It will be held in the cafeteria. Scorpions Latest Program is FUN! Sunday afternoon just got a lot more fun for the holidays. We have added a Scorpions SPIKES House League. Open to any players in our Atomic 2 program (grades 7/8).
