The Scorpions indoor volleyball program is growing each year. The program consists of SPIKES learn to play, house league, sitting volleyball and competitive teams. They estimate 500 youth will be registered in their indoor program in the fall. The club will have 10 competitive girls teams and 3 boys competitive teams. Paul Podstawka, along with his extensive indoor playing experience at York and McMaster University, is also a former McMaster University Assistant Coach. Additionally, he had an excellent national and international career in beach volleyball. The 15U girls Scorpions competitive girls team last year finished 6th at the Canadian National Volleyball Championships. WireService.ca Press Release (07/24/2014) Cambridge, Ontario - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is expanding its competitive indoor coaching staff. The Scorpions indoor volleyball program is growing each year. The program consists of SPIKES learn to play, house league, sitting volleyball and competitive teams. Scott Nameth, along with his indoor experience with the Wilfred Laurier Golden Hawks Men's Varsity Volleyball Team, also played varsity soccer with the Golden Hawks. Prior to playing for the Hawks Scott played 4 years of club volleyball at both Bronte Beach (Oakville) and Niagra Rapids (St. Catharines). Medals at both provincial andnnational levels are some of his past accomplishments. The 17U Scorpions competitive boys team last year were a Tier 3 Gold medalist at the Ontario provincial volleyball championships. The Scorpions Volleyball Club estimate five hundred youth will be involved in their various indoor programs this season. Last year the Scorpions had the largest Fall and Winter Learn to Play and House League Programs in the Waterloo Region. The programs are for boys and girls born from 2006-1995.
