Got to our ABOUT page for more information ![]() August 21st, 2014 - The Scorpions Volleyball Club are very proud to announce that, former University of Waterloo Warrior and OVA Beach Player of the Year, Fiodar Kazhamiaka has agreed to join our 2014/15 indoor competitive volleyball program as an Auxiliary Coach. Fiodar will be utilized in helping our coaches by providing targeted skill training for teams upon request. He will also provide a support role if a team needs a head or assistant coach on a temporary basis. Paul Langan, Founder Scorpions Volleyball Club states, " We realize Fiodar's passion is on the technical side of the game. With over 20 coaches on staff this season he will fill a vital role in helping develop our competitive players and supporting our coaches." WireService.ca Press Release (08/20/2014) Cambridge, Ontario - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is expanding it's SPIKES Developmental Program coaching staff. The Scorpions indoor volleyball program is growing each year. The program consists of SPIKES learn to play, house league, sitting volleyball and competitive teams. They estimate 500 youth will be registered in their indoor program in the fall. The club will have 10 competitive girls teams and 3 boys competitive teams. There will be over 250 youth in their SPIKES program. The SPIKES Learn to Play Program was developed by the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA). Lesson plans are for boys and girls from 6 to 16 years old. The drills are tailored to the participants’ age and skill levels. John Forman, is the most experienced club volleyball coach in the City of Cambridge, ON. A list of his career accomplishments are included below. The Player of the Year award is given to an adult division player who has accumulated the most OVA Beach Tour Adult Division points throughout the 2014 season in both the men's and women's categories. The player with the most accumulated points will receive $1000 in prize money. In 2013, Scorpions's coach Fiodar Kazhamiaka won the same award.
