Kayla played 5 years for the University of Waterloo achieving an amazing Academic All-Canadian status each year there. I am sure she will inspire our young athletes to reach their goals both on and off the court." ![]() The Scorpions are very proud to announce that Lisa James will be coaching our 14U boys competitive team for the 2018-19 fall and indoor season. Lisa has an extensive coaching record. She as coached at the club, high school and university level. Her coaching and playing experience spans 20 years. She still plays competitive elite indoor and beach volleyball. To see her extensive biography CLICK HERE. James Evans, currently on leave from the club, is anticipated to return in January to coach with Lisa. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, " Lisa, with her experience and dynamic personality, is a perfect fit with our club. She wants to help build our boys program. After meeting with her I am excited about having her in the club. I look forward to seeing the 14U boys team improve with her coaching them." The Scorpions are looking for more boys to come out to their Get Ready for Tryouts Camp and Competitive Team Tryouts in September. We are looking for boys with potential so please bring them out. Megan have over 20 years experience playing competitive volleyball. She currently plays in elite indoor and beach adult league. Megan est professeur de français dans la région de waterloo. She has been and continues to be a volleyball coach in the schools where she teaches. She is also a well respected rugby player. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club currently has over 500 indoor players. Their 12U/11U tournament series is the longest running in Ontario. Paul Langan, President of Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club Inc. states, "We are proud to be offering for the 8th year a series of tournaments for younger volleyball players. The tournament is open to any teams in Ontario and they do not have to be registered with Ontario Volleyball Association to participate. All tournaments will be held in Cambridge, Ontario. Donations are accepted to help offset the cost of putting on the tournament. They are pleased to announce their tryout schedule for the upcoming indoor competitive season.

The tryouts are free. To avoid the long lineups it is strongly recommended you preregister for the tryouts. You can preregister and learn more by going to our Competitive Page at http://www.scorpionsvolleyball.ca/competitive-teams.html . If your son or daughter wants to play on any competitive team, eg: our White teams in the Southwest Volleyball League or our Green and Gold in the Ontario Volleyball Association please come to the tryouts. For our younger ages,(11,12,13, 14U) we are looking for potential in the player, so please do bring them out. NOTE: The Scorpions will also host a Get Ready for Tryouts Camp the week before so players can get prepared for Tryouts. Our coaches will be there to train the players. There are two 1.5hr/2hr sessions on Saturday September 15 and 16th at Monsignor Doyle School. Registration is $20.00 and we will announce soon when the online registration begins for the Camp. The club recently celebrated their 8th year anniversary. The club has refocused their energy on their developmental programs. They offer programs for boys and girls from Grade 2-12. John Forman will be responsible for the Scorpions 1 program for Grades 5 and 6. Bernadine Verstraeten will be responsible for the Scorpions 2 program for Grades 7 and 8. The Scorpions 3 developmental program coordinator for high school age youth will be filled in the near future.
