![]() Scorpions 15U Fuzion continued their winning ways and brought home another medal this weekend. This marks the fifth straight tournament with a top three finish. Fuzion battled injury and illness to capture the Bronze medal at the 15U Provincial Cup in London. The team started the day with only 8 out of 9 players as one of the athletes did not travel due to injury. Another athlete was battling a fever but pushed through to finish the day. Their first match was against a determined FCVC Green Team that was looking for payback after a loss to Fuzion last week in the 16U OVA tournament. The Scorpions stayed on top and won 25-19 and 28-26. Fuzion faced the host team London Sharks and after a close first set 25-23 they buckled down and cruised to a straight set victory taking the second set 25-13. Quarter finals was another rematch of a team looking to avenge a loss in last week's Gold medal match. Fuzion faced London Fire Intensity and in a tough match they prevailed winning with identical scores of 25 -23 in both sets. The Semi finals was to be the breaking point as Scorpions played Kitchener Predators and lost another player to injury reducing the roster to 7. They went down to defeat 16-25 and 23-25. The team regrouped and had to face an FCVC team that was hoping the 3rd meeting would go in their favor. Fuzion started slowly and were down early in the match 9-1. After a timeout the girls dug in and fought for every point. They came back to win the game 25-19. They lost the second game 19-25. The teams switched sides with Fuzion trailing by one point. After the side change the Scorpions didn't look back and went on to capture the Bronze winning the final game 15-11. With this win Scorpions Fuzion becomes one of the top 12 teams in Ontario and moves up to the Premier Division. Congratulations on an amazing effort!
