At the 12th Annual Overkill Fanshawe College Kickoff Volleyball Tournament, October 4-5 in London. the Mohawk Mountaineers women's team lost a tough five set match to St. Clair College in the bronze medal game. In that game, Jessna Marmo was Mohawk’s offensive star with five aces and five kills, plus 10 digs and two blocks. ![]() We are very excited to announce that Kaitlyn Skinner, our Scorpions Beach Coach has signed a contract to play professional indoor volleyball in Spain. She will play for Voleibol Emevé in Lugo, Spain. They compete in the highest league in Spain, the Superliga Femenina. Kaitlyn is from Cambridge Ontario and just finished a fantastic career at Bowling Green University in Ohio. Kaitlyn has been part of our Scorpions beach coaching staff for the last couple years. The Scorpions indoor volleyball program is growing each year. The program consists of SPIKES learn to play, house league, sitting volleyball and competitive teams. They estimate 500 youth will be registered in their indoor program in the fall. The club will have 10 competitive girls teams and 2 boys competitive teams. Jessie Louks brings to the club a wealth of experience. Some of her career highlights are: - 20 years competitive level volleyball player - 14 years competitive team coaching - Level 2 Trained Coach - Can-Amera Games Volleyball Coach - Played competitive basketball at Regional, Provincial and National Levels Jessie will be responsible this fall and winter for developing a 14U Select Developmental girls team for the club. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is expanding its competitive indoor coaching staff. The club estimates that 500 youth will be registered in their indoor program in the fall.
