![]() The Scorpions Volleyball Club continues to improve the volleyball equipment in Cambridge Schools. The club has purchased volleyball safety padding for three schools and are proud to announce they have purchased high quality volleyball nets for Our Lady of Fatima School Cambridge. Scorpions Club Founder Paul Langan states, " We give back to the community. As a non-profit we see our role to help schools improve the quality of the volleyball and safety equipment. ![]() The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club announces the hiring of former Brock University volleyball player Rachel Campbell ( Roorda) to be assistant coach for their 17U girls competitive team. WireService.ca Press Release (09/15/2014) Cambridge, Ontario - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is expanding its competitive indoor coaching staff. The Scorpions indoor volleyball program is growing each year. The program consists of SPIKES learn to play, house league, sitting volleyball and competitive teams. They estimate 500 youth will be registered in their indoor program in the fall. The club will have 10 competitive girls teams and 3 boys competitive teams. Paul Langan founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states," Rachel was a dominant volleyball player at Brock. We are fortunate to have her with us. I look forward to the positive influence she will have on the team". The 17U Scorpions team head coach is Vaughan McMillan who is a former Brock university player and coach. ![]() Jeff Schaefer, who have been assistant coach for the boys 15U and 16U team is returning to help the 17U boys team as an auxiliary coach. jeff is a former Conestoga Condor varsity player. His work schedule prohibits him from assisting on a full time basis but he is able to coach as his work schedule allows. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club," I feel that Jeff helping head coach Scott Nameth with the 17U boys team we will have a strong coaching foundation. We are fortunate to have Jeff back. He has a positive influence on the club. She completed playing for the club this past summer on the Ontario Beach volleyball tour. She recently has been selected as a member of the University of Waterloo Warrior Women's Varsity Volleyball Team. Brooklyn will be studying kinesiology at the university. In her time with the Scorpions Club, she was on 3 provincial medal indoor teams (2011,2012, 2013) and won numerous Gold and Silver medals on the Ontario and California beach volleyball tours with her partner Katie Langan. The club wishes Brooklyn the best in her future at the university. ![]() Karen Omand has joined the Scorpions Volleyball Club of Cambridge, ON as International Tournament Coordinator. The club has grown from 1 to 12 competitive teams in 4 years. Most of the indoor teams now travel to the USA to various tournaments and some of the Scorpions beach volleyball competitive duos travel to California to play. Paul Langan, Founder of the Club, states, " The club has grown to the point where we need to address the issue of international tournament participation. Our teams travelled to six different US states last year and played in 12 tournaments. Karen is perfect for the coordinator role. Her organizational skills are exceptional."
