All the Scorpion teams came to play on the last weekend of the OVA Volleyball Championships. There were strong performances by the Scorpions 13U Girls White , 15U Girls Synergy and 15U Boys teams played strong.
Two teams however raised their games to another level. The 16U Shockwave team, beat last years National champions Durham Attack, before losing to the number ranked provincially ranked London Forest City in a close three set battle in the Quarter finals. The Scorpions Shockwave finished tied for 5th place in Division 1 Tier 1, the highest division of volleyball in Ontario. The 13U Scorpions White team, who had already claimed a provincial medal in the previous 14U provincial tournament, started slow on Friday and Saturday. They came alive however on Sunday winning the Silver medal by defeating the Kitchener Predators in straight sets. Congrats to all the teams!.

The Scorpions teams came into the second week of Ontario Volleyball Association provincials championships ready to play hard. They did and we are so proud of them.
Our 15U Girls Synergy finished in Division 1 Tier 1 in 9th place out of 114 teams!! Our 15U Strikers team were on fire on Saturday and Sunday winning 4 matches in a row before losing a close three set match. Our boys 14U team played with energy all weekend and showed the rest of Ontario that our boys program is on the rise.. Our 14U Scorpions Fuzion team played up in 15U Division 3 Tier 1. They won GOLD for the second week in a row. Amazingly they won all 12 matches winning 30 sets and losing only 5 sets on their way to the GOLD medal. Congrats to all our Scorpions Teams. You represented Scorpions Nation well. Scorpions Volleyball player Amy Cureton, a 6'4" outside hitter and middle blocker, has signed with the Brock University Badgers women's varsity volleyball team.

Amy Cureton, from Cambridge, Ontario, has decided to attend Brock University and accept a scholarship to play for the Brock University Badgers women's team. Amy has played with the Scorpions her whole youth volleyball career. She started in the grade 8 house league program and played competitive up to this year on the 18U Scorpions competitive girls team. Paul Langan, Founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, "Amy walked into the gym five years ago a shy young girl. She leaves the club as a leader whose commitment to the team and the club was exceptional.
