COMPETITIVE PROGRAM - For those interested in playing on one of our competitive teams. We do not know if there is a season in January. We do know all public and separate school board gyms are not available. We invite all boys and girls that want to play competitive to our Fall Festival Days so our competitive team coaches can see you in action outdoors.

Saturday - (11u -16U) GIRLS - Sept. 12th, 19th, 26th

The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club, is the largest indoor and beach volleyball club in the Waterloo Region Guelph, Brantford, Woodstock and surrounding area. They are pleased to announce their tryout schedule for the upcoming indoor competitive season.

​Tryouts will occur:

• BOYS - September 20th and 21st at Preston High School - 550 Rose - Cambridge, ON.
• GIRLS - September 22nd and 23rd at Monsignor Doyle School - 185 Myers Road, Cambridge, ON.

The tryouts are free. To avoid the long lineups it is strongly recommended you preregister for the tryouts.

If your son or daughter wants to play on any competitive team, eg: our White teams in the Southwest Volleyball League or our Green and Gold in the Ontario Volleyball Association please come to the tryouts.

For our younger ages,(11,12,13, 14U) we are looking for potential in the player, so please do bring them out.

NOTE: The Scorpions will also host a Get Ready for Tryouts Camp the week before so players can get prepared for Tryouts. Our coaches will be there to train the players. There are two 1.5hr/2hr sessions on Saturday September 15 and 16th at Monsignor Doyle School. Registration is $20.00 and we will announce soon when the online registration begins for the Camp.

The Scorpions 14U Girls Fuzion Team traveled to Lansing Michigan recently and came home with a Gold Medal in the Silver Bracket of a large President's Day Tournament.

They played 8 matches in two days.

The Scorpions hosted a 14U/13U Boys tournament in Cambridge. Both the Scorpions 13U and 14u boys team were in it. In the final match the two 1st place teams of each division played each other. The Scorpions 14U boys team won Gold defeating Leamington Velocity VC.

The Scorpions 15U Girls Synergy team played up in a 16U Ontario Volleyball Association tournament in Kitchener Ontario. In pool play the defeated the Guelph Grizzlies 16U and Niagara Rapids 16U. In the quarter finals they defeated the Waterdown Raider 15U. In the semi finals they disposed of the Niagara Rapids 15U Blue team. In the finals they defeated Niagara Rapids 15U black team in straight sets capturing a Gold Medal.

The Scorpions 17U Girls Venom team played up in a 18U Ontario Volleyball Association tournament in Simcoe Ontario. In pool play they  disposed of Georgetown Impact 25-11 and Waterloo Tigers Red 17U 23-25, 25-13, 15-11. In the quarter finals they beat Waterloo Tigers Black 25-18 and 25-16. In the semi finals they beat the Hamilton Smash in three sets 16-25,  28-26, 15-10 . In the final game they beat the Kitchener Predators 25-21, 23-25 and 15-13 to claim the Gold medal.

The Scorpions Volleyball Club are proud to announce our March Break Volleyball Camp with Club Coach and Olympian Janet Cobbs Mulholland.

The sessions will be held Tues,Wed,Thur, March 15,16,17 at Heritage College, 175 Holiday Inn Drive, Cambridge.

Times are:
9:00am-Noon: 2003-2005
1pm-4:00pm: 2002-2000.

The cost is $100.

The Scorpions 15U Synergy team set a club record and also a first for the City of Cambridge.

The team travelled to Kitchener to play in the Ontario Volleyball Association tournament there. In pool play they disposed of South County Teal in 2 straight sets. They then beat the Kitchener Predators 2 sets to 1.

In the quarters final they defeated London Forest City Oaks 2 sets to 1. In the semi finals they defeated beat London LVC Fire in straight sets.

They captured GOLD in the Premier Division by defeating the Niagara Rapids also in straight sets.

This is the first time in the history of youth competitive volleyball in the City of Cambridge that a team has placed first in the Premier division (the highest division) of Ontario Volleyball Association tournaments.

Rogers TV will feature our Scorpions Boys 15U team and player Matt Schmidt tonight on the HOME TEAM SPORTS show with Dan Polischuk tonight.

The 13U Scorpions Green team travelled to Kitchener for their first OVA tournament. They came home with a SILVER MEDAL

In pool play they beat the Kitchener Predators Tempo 25-19 25-19,  and the Guelph Grizzlies Red 25-11, 25-14. In playoffs they beat
the Brant Tornados 25-12, 25-15. In the semi finals they beat Kitchener Predators Infernos 12-25, 25-15,15-7. They lost the finals
 to the Tempo 25-12, 22-25 and 12-15.

The team is Delaney Aitken,Riley Love,Hannah Chambers,Lily Corkill,Mia McCracken,Ashley Van Rooyens, Laura Fitero,Makaila Squires,Chantal Lapierre,Parveena Padum and Kendra Bryce. Coaches are Andrew Aitken
and Lee Boyadjian.

The Scorpions 15U Boys team travelled to London for their first OVA tournament os the season. They had already claimed a gold medal in pre-season action. Coach Vaughan McMillan and assistant coach Bill Scott had the boys game ready as they brought home their second GOLD medal of season.

In pool play Scorpions vs. LVC Fire  25 - 12, 18 - 25, 15 - 6. Scorpions vs. Forest City 25 - 8, 25 - 11. In the playoffs the Scorpions took their game to the next level
winning the semi finals and gold medal game in straight sets.Scorpions vs Ballhawks  25 - 7, 25 - 11. Scorpions vs. Stratford Cobras 25 - 14, 25 - 13.
