![]() The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is announcing that Karen Omand is stepping down after nine distinguished years on the Board of Directors. Karen first started in the role of register for the club in the 2011-12. She has seen the club grow from 3 competitive teams to 23 teams. The registrar role had grown so large that the club now has three people doing that role. Karen also volunteered to be on the club's discipline committee, beach tournaments and was an assistant coach on one of our teams. Paul Langan, Club President states, " Some people step forward to help in the community who prefer to stay in the background and do their work. Karen Omand was one of those people. She never complained regardless of how the registrar role expanded as the club went from 75 to 1000 players. Karen is the quintessential person you want on to have your board. She understands the Scorpions philosophy of being a community based volleyball club. I can definitively say that Karen Omand is one of our board members whose work was instrumental in the success in the club. I will miss her."
