The non-profit Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club has been awarded a Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC) Community Activation Grant.
The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is the largest beach and indoor volleyball club in the Waterloo Region. The SIRC grant will allow the club to update the following policies and training requirements to ensure they are current and the coaches and members of the club are educated on them. The policies being updated include: Harassment & Bullying Prevention and Concussion Prevention and Protocols. The grant will also allow more coaches to be trained in online Safe Sport Initiative Training. Paul Langan, Scorpions President states, "We are grateful to the SIRC for this money to update our policies and training. It is of paramount importance that the Scorpions club continue to make the safety of its staff and players a priority." Here is a link to the complete SIRC press release.
